SANTRO is a non-for-profit organization that strives to serve as a network for scientific activity, educational courses, clinical trials, and scholar exchange for oncology professionals across the Pacific Ocean. Within the first 5 years, SANTRO hopes to:
Promote Chinese professionals to present state-of-art techniques, novel scientific findings and clinical trial concepts to the American Society for Radiation Oncology (ASTRO) and to support and participate in ASTRO International Affairs activities.
Organize educational and scientific symposiums in China for enthusiastic professionals to present state-of-art techniques, novel scientific findings and clinical trial concepts to Chinese Society of Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology (CSTRO).
Facilitate young physicians, physicists, and biologists to obtain doctorate or post-doctorate training in the United States and China, and promote expert professionals from the two countries to lecture and visit each other on an individual basis.
Establish a system and initiate a few quality-assured clinical trials and promote Chinese Cancer Centers to become international members of Radiation Therapy Oncology Group (RTOG).
